A secret tapping service to listen to phone calls of Ministers, Opposition leaders and media personnel

(Lanka-e-News 01.Nov.2009 7.45PM) Lanka e news is reliably informed that a secret service is now in existence to garner information on calls and exchanges of internal communication among ‘some’ Ministers and others, who are allegedly engaged in Throat slitting, backbiting and political backstabbing.
It is reported that this service is having the patronage and support of the most high echelons of the Govt. aimed at gathering information and data about those ‘original’ SLFPers who feel that they have been sidelined and given step motherly treatment and allegedly carrying out a campaign against the Govt.
Telephone discussions of Senior SLFPers and front liners of the Govt. including Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva, Maithripala Sirisena , A.H.M. Fowzie, John Seneviratne, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, Rajitha Senaratne, Mano Wijeratne, are tapped, and a report thereof is forwarded to the Govt.’s most top notch persons , it is learnt.
It is also revealed that this is being uninterruptedly and continuously done in the midst of media disclosures that some Ministers are in communication with UNP leaders and senior UNPers .
In addition ,conversations of Opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, Tissa Attanayake, Daysiri Jayasekera, S.B . Dissanayake, Palitha Range Bandara, Johnston Fernando , Mano Gnaeshan and UNP frontliners are being tapped. Even the media personnel are not immune from this Govt. secret service . All those who report against the Govt. ; those who expose the truth; those who write about the factual situation in regard to Sarath Fonseka are all covered by this secret tapping service , who then record them and forward the tapes to the relevant top notch Govt. sources. Indeed , some members of the Opposition are tapped throughout the 24 hours of the day.
When Lanka e news inquired from UNP Gen. Secretary Tissa Attanayake about this, he confirmed that the Govt. is tapping and recording all his conversations. Besides, he is getting death threats all the time . But , he is not making complaints of these to the Police, because neither the SL Police nor the IGP ever takes any action to conduct an independent impartial inquiry into these complaints.
