Obama sends letter to President MR for Tissainayagam’s release

US President Obama has sent an urgent letter to the President Mahinda Rajapakse for the release of Senior Journalist Tissainayagam who was sentenced to jail some months ago by the Supreme Court of SL.
Tissainayagam was sentenced under the Terrorist investigation Dept. charges in the misdst of a huge storm of protests locally and internationally.
President Obama’s letter has urged the release of Tissainayagam based on human rights considerations.
