Sri Lanka: Working Jouranalists Assn. changes name
The Sri Lanka Working Journalists Association will henceforth be called the Sri Lanka Journalists Association, the media rights group has decided.
The decision was taken at the association’s annual election of office bearers that took place at the Colombo public library auditorium yesterday (Aug. 28).
All officials of the SLJA were appointed without a vote.
The president is Lasantha Ruhunage, secretary Ranga Jayasuriya, treasurer Duminda Sampath, national organizer Upali de Saram, vice presidents Kanchana Marasinghe and Gnanasiri Kottigoda, deputy secretaries Bingun Menaka and Tito Kugan and deputy treasurer Thaha Muzammil.(Srilankamirror)
