Army chief takes ‘Udayan’ to court
Army chief Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya yesterday (Oct. 24) filed a defamation case against Jaffna’s ‘Udayan’ newspaper seeking damages, said the Army media unit.
The petition, filed in the Jaffna High Court, cites to articles published by the Tamil language newspaper on two occasions against both the Army commander and the defence secretary.
