A newspaper agent has complained to the Wellampitiya police that UPFA Kurunegala District electoral organizer, defeated UPFA Colombo District candidate at the last general election and Deputy Director General at ITN, Sudarman Radaliyagoda had threatened to kill him while flashing a pistol.
The complaint was lodged on July 7th and it states that if anything were to happen to the complainant’s life, Radaliyagoda would be responsible for it.
The complaint states that the death threat was made during an argument that had started following a request made to hand in a letter from the ITN requesting for the facility of making payments for newspapers delivered at
the end of the month.
When inquired about the complaint, Radaliyagoda admitted that an argument had taken place between himself and the newspaper agent and that when the agent had said “we will see,” he too had responded by saying “we will also see.” However, he denied using a pistol to threaten the person.
Radaliyagoda further said that the pistol given to him for his protection when he was involved in reporting about the war, was kept at his residence and was not taken around by him.
