Nugegoda Magistrate Rohana Anura Kumara Herath yesterday further sealed till September 27 the printing press which had allegedly printed posters with disfigured photographs of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Printing Press, Sarala Graphics, of Gangodawila was raided by the Mirihana Special Investigation Unit allegedly on a tip off that there were bombs and explosives hidden in the premises.
However, when they raided the printing press, the police had found not bombs but offset printing plates with disfigured photographs of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the word “Dictator’
Police said they had found eight such plates at the printing press and two of them had also had the name Sunil Ratnayake on them.
Police said they were investigating several other suspects who were presently being detained on the orders of the defence secretary.
Police did not object to the suspects being granted bail.
Accordingly the magistrate released the suspects on Rs 100,000 personal bail.
