Saturday, 18 September 2010 18:13

The Supreme Court has ordered the Attorney General to produce in a Court of Law within two weeks Mr. Jayampathy Bulathsinghala who is being detained at Mirihana Police alleging that he had printed an illegal poster humiliating the President.

The SC made this directive when a fundamental application filed by Mr. Bulathsinghala stating that he has been arbitrarily detained for printing a legal poster was taken for inquiry yesterday.
The SC also directed the AG to let the detainee have access to lawyers and to release the wife and the two brothers who have had no hand in the issue. The Bench comprised Justice Shirani Tilakawardene, Justice K. Sripavan and Justice Chandra Ekanayake.
