Police deployed to sabotage poster campaign against imprisonment of General

Police have been deployed to sabotage the lawful poster campaign launched by the JVP throughout the island against arbitrary imprisonment by the government of former Commander of the Army Gen. Sarath Fonseka states the media unit of the JVP.

The members of the JVP who were putting up posters against the imprisonment of Gen. Sarath Fonseka have been taken into custody at several places and in certain areas posters that had been pasted have been torn by deploying police personnel points out the media unit of the JVP.

Such incidents have been reported from almost all districts in the island and at the time of this news item is being keyed police officers in certain areas were seen tearing posters states the media unit of the JVP.

The media unit of the JVP states their struggle for democracy and justice cannot be stopped by such acts and they are prepared to defeat whatever attempts the government takes to suppress the peopleís protest against the measures taken to imprison Gen. Sarath Fonseka against peopleís views or requests by religious leaders.
