The writer accused for inspiring religious harm seeks legal advice

Police has informed the Colombo Magistrates Court that it will take action to take legal advice from the Attorney General regarding Malani Perera alias Sahara Binith Mohammed Naim who is accused for writing a book ‘Anduren Eliyata and Questions Answers’ contradicting Buddhist rituals and views.

When the relevant case was summoned before the Courts, officials of the Special Unit of Mirihna Police have informed that all investigations reports have been forwarded to the Attorney-General.

Accordingly, Police has been ordered to present the progress of this matter to the Courts on the next 27th
