The government that burnt the eNews office is now focused on Boondi website

The Rajapaksa government that set the LankaeNews website office ablaze and has arrested News Editor Bennet Rupasinghe has reportedly focused attention on the Boondi website.

Senior DIG N.K. Ilangakoon addressing a special session organized at the Polcie Academy for a selected group of police personnel to monitor communications at the Police Department has said the police intelligence units and the communications units have to be restructured to face the threat of website terrorism.

He had said that modern technology should be used to block websites like Lanka News Web and
Lanka Guardian that are being operated from overseas, keep a close watch on the journalists and sources attached to the LankaeNews website and the Boondi website, which is an art and culture site.

Ilangakoon had spoken at length about eh contents of the Boondi website and had explained the politics behind the website.

Senior DIG Ilangakoon has planned many programmes for the government with the aim of taking over as Police Chief once IGP Mahinda Balasuriya retires.
