The head of the President’s media unit has pressurized all newspaper institutions to remove the head line they had in their news papers on the FTZ employee who died in a police shooting on a demonstration held at Katunayake say reports.
When the death of the employee was known yesterday (1st) evening the head of the media unit had telephoned all newspaper offices and had pressurized the editors not to have the headline regarding the worker’s death.
By that time many newspapers had selected the death of the worker as the leading news in their newspapers. However, due to the pressure applied on them at the last moment they had to add the news among other items without giving it prominence.
