Fourteen radio and 12 television licenses were issued in the past six years, leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena informed Parliament yesterday (Aug. 25).
Also, licenses for one fixed wireless telephone service, two mobile phone services, two broadband, data, communication and internet services, three satellite transmission services and three cable TV services were issued during the period, he said.
Responding to a question raised by UNP’s Ravi Karunanayake, Mr. Gunawardena said an income of Rs. 803 million was earned by issuing radio, TV and satellite transmission licenses.
