For press freedom by Sunanda Deshapriya
On Tuesday, September 11, at 5:50 p.m. a phone call was received by Dinouk Colombage, the journalist initially assigned to work on the Malaka Silva story from a number that was displayed as “private number”. Upon answering the call, the man on the line (speaking in Sinhala) abused the journalist and told him that he should “stop working on his story, otherwise nothing good will come of it.”
Colombage has since lodged a complaint at the Welikada Police station. The I.B. reference is 81/94 CIB III.
