Sri Lanka Court Orders Inquiry into Victimisation of Journalists – IFJ
The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) is encouraged to learn that Sri Lanka’s Supreme Court has ordered an inquiry into the alleged political victimisation and interdiction of eight media workers in the state-run broadcaster, the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC).

The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) yesterday charged that the government had blocked the website ‘www.freesarathfonseka.com’ launched by the party on Monday to demand the immediate release of its leader Retired General Sarath Fonseka.
