An armed group believed to be associated with a notorious Deputy Minister attacked the MTV/MBC office at Braybrooke Place a short while ago severely damaging the place, an MBC official told Daily Mirror online.

Sri Lanka: Leaked state intelligence hit list

Lanka News Web reported earlier this month that “state intelligence units have drawn up a list of names of active journalists and NGOs [non government organisations]” and categorised them according to a points system. While the full list has not been published, those named are connected to organisations and media outlets critical of President Mahinda Rajapakse and his government.

Probe on Fonseka media interviews

The government has launched a full scale investigation to probe how pro Fonseka interviews have been leaked to the media while the General is under military custody at the heavily guarded Naval Headquarters, the Defence Ministry said today.
